Gayatri Shelton-Ostadi uses ayurvedically-informed Yoga Therapy to help clients create profound health and well-being. Her medicine bag includes meditation, breath-work, asana (yoga poses), structural yoga, lifestyle counseling, awareness-based practices, shat karmas and yoga nidra. She uses these and other tools to help people with challenges such as skeletal and soft tissue injuries, weight loss, osteoporosis, depression, asthma, posture improvement, stress relief, building core strength and cultivating spirituality. In addition she teaches group classes in gentle hatha yoga, vinyasa, Somatic Yoga, Thai Massage and Partner Yoga. Call her to find out how yoga can help you reach your goals.
I encourage you to approach your practice with compassion, curiosity – and a sense of humor! Classically, yoga was not a standardized practice. No one practice is ideal for all of us. No two people are alike, nor are their needs for optimum health. Each personalized practice needs to be regularly adapted to meet changing conditions, needs and goals. I am honored to be serving California’s Gold Country Communities….in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Offering both private and group sessions. To learn more, give me a call or email me. May the rising sun, fill your heart with joy…and the setting sun, bless your heart with peace. Namaste!

Ken also offers yoga therapy workshops on topics such as Grief, Depression, Anxiety and Trauma. Ken's philosophy can be best summarized by the quote by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross: “People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.”

Seeing how the practice of yoga can alleviate pain and suffering, Myla shifted her practice from a strong vinyasa to a more therapeutic approach. She also finished her 300-hour Yoga Therapy Training at Ananda Seva Yoga Mission. She teaches a wide range of classes, such as therapeutic, beginners, teenagers, vinyasa-flow and restorative yoga classes. Myla believes in an integration of the body, mind and spirit, as a result she blends Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, Reiki and Craniosacral therapy in her sessions. Myla is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and she is currently enrolled in California College of Ayurveda.

I am trained as a Yoga Therapist in the method that is at least 5000 years old. It is an ancient practice, a marriage of Art and Science, called Classical Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda. My intention is to support your unfoldment of the deepest core of who you are which is healthy and whole and fine in every way. With over two decades of practice in Yoga and meditation and as a certified Yoga Therapist, I have synthesized the best of ancient classical yoga training and modern science and research. I aim to be there for you in a loving supportive way, whether you are trying or learning a new asana in a group class with a skillful and watchful eye yet with enough light-hearted playful energy to make the journey a joy to be discovering. Or individually and privately, if you are working with acute or chronic conditions I assist to uncover your whole healthy place from within. Together, clients and I have successfully lowered blood pressure and medication, stabilized and prevented surgery to a low back injury, and reduced anxiety and the agony of stress. I am also trained to work with many common ailments and illnesses that plague modern society such as stress, insomnia, depression, obesity, osteoporosis, aging issues, women’s gynecological and fertility, men’s prostate issues, and sexual function.
Together we assess your unique situation, using a detailed physical structural analysis, Ayurveda (the sister science of Yoga), and a thorough lifestyle question interview, and come up with an easy-to-follow plan. The plan may include Asana, pranayama, mantra recitation, chanting and/or kirtan, diet, and lifestyle management skills. I also incorporate Integrative Restoration iRest Yoga Nidra, a 10-step self-care process that is proven to increase your ability to cope with the stress life hands you and enriches your sense of inner well-being. I am a life-long student of my guru/mentor Swami Chetanananda. With patience, practice and gentle perseverance you can uncover that place inside you where you can say, “Ahhh life is good.”
